The opportunity
For our Business Unit High Voltage Products in Sweden, we are looking for a Mechanical and Seismic Specialist to strengthen our R&D Team for Live Tank High Voltage Circuit Breakers development.
This position involves assisting with design and product development projects throughout all stages, including simulation, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems. The role requires collaboration with engineers and internal stakeholders across the global organization to develop solutions that address various requirements from technology, marketing, and production sectors.

How you’ll make an impact
- Perform studies and Finite Element simulations of stress from dynamic events during project development and execution. The event includes seismic events as well as mechanical forces resulting from equipment operation.
- Participate in mechanical and seismic testing programs and provide hands-on support to ensure successful testing campaigns in Swedish and abroad testing facilities.
- Familiarize yourself with the use of industry-specific standards and specialized laboratory equipment and experiments to ensure conformity to physical specifications.
- You will be working in a multidisciplinary technical environment where mechanical and electrical considerations are necessary.
- Convert theoretical results into reality in actual design suggestions in cooperation with the product responsible.
- Interpret requirements and available data and document required procedures for mechanical and seismic qualifications of equipment.
Your background
- You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience from seismic or other dynamic mechanical simulations is a merit.
- As a person, you get motivated by solving problems and collaborating with others. You have good communication skills and the courage to take on responsibility. The willingness to learn is a key ability to succeed in this position.
- A general interest in electromechanical systems is needed to be a good fit in this position. The objective is to develop cost-effective solutions that meet all requirements.
- You will work in a multicultural environment which means that you need to be able to express yourself in English.
